Like all of Nancy Marx Cancer Wellness Center programs and services, our workshops are completely free of charge. All workshops and events require an assessment to ensure proper placement. To schedule an assessment, please contact Joy Rubel, LMSW, jrubel@sjjcc.org

BETTER HEALTH BEGINS IN THE KITCHEN
Kickstart your journey to better nutrition with Karen Berg, RD.
Monthly nutrition workshops for those with a cancer diagnosis.
Start the Year off Right – Wednesday, January 22, 2025, 12:30-1:30pm

FAMILY DAY: COPING TOGETHER
Monthly workshops where children of all ages, parents, and care partners build bonds, increase emotional vocabulary, and develop coping skills to navigate a parent’s cancer diagnosis. Enjoy fun activities while engaging in group exercises. Time will be dedicated to separate parent and child sessions.
Sundays, January 12, February 2, and March 9, 10am-12pm

COFFEE AND CONNECTION
Join fellow cancer survivors in a safe, supportive space to share your journey, create beautiful art projects, and connect with others who truly understand. Whether you want to talk, listen, or be in the presence of those who understand, we welcome you with open arms. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate will be provided.
Thursdays, January 16, 1:30-3pm, February 13, and March 13, 2-2:30pm

LOVINGKINDNESS
Explore the practice of lovingkindness with Dr. Hildur Palsdottir in this special meditation session designed for those affected by cancer. Learn techniques to cultivate compassion and emotional resilience.
Wednesday, February 12, 12:30-2pm

PAIN MANAGEMENT
Dr. Diana Martins Welch from Northwell Hospital Cancer Institute discusses effective pain management strategies for those affected by cancer during and after treatment.
Tuesday, February 25, 6-7pm

HEART HEALTH DURING TREATMENT
In this virtual workshop, learn about the impact of cancer treatments on your heart with Dr. Robert Copeland-Halperin, Onco-Cardiologist at Northwell Health Cancer Institute. Tuesday, March 4, 6-7pm
