The Aquatics Supervisor is responsible for developing and implementing aquatics programming, facilities, staff, and equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Assist with developing and managing of the aquatics budget.
- Develop and implement an aquatics marketing plan in partnership with the SJJCC Marketing team, including content for printed materials and social media platforms, website, and summer camp promotions.
- Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, developing, and evaluating all aquatics staff, including lifeguards, coaches, aquatics exercise, and personal trainers.
- Responsible for appropriate levels of scheduling for staff to ensure safety and maximize the member experience.
- Assist the facilities manager with the maintenance and compliance requirements as outlined by the Red Cross and Nassau County Department of Health.
Position Responsibilities:
- Respond to member requests for information about aquatic programs or services.
- Oversee all existing aquatics programs, including managing the summer aquatics camp program. Develop new programs and procedures.
- Support and participate in the Health & Wellness committees for special events and fundraisers.
- Conduct needs assessments or surveys to determine interest in, or satisfaction with, aquatic programs, events, or services.
- Maintain aquatic-related schedules, records, or reports.
- Track attendance, participation, or performance data related to aquatic events.
- Other duties assigned by Health and Wellness Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years supervisory experience in an aquatic setting.
- Associates Degree.
- Exceptional customer service skills; Computer savvy: advanced computer skills to include data entry, Microsoft Office Suite; ex. Outlook, Word, Excel, Power point, etc.
- Ability to address work-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Able to communicate professionally, ability to multi-task, effective time management, and organizational skills.
- High level of staff management, 30+ personnel.
- Dependable and ability to adapt to change and build positive relationships externally and internally.
- Certified in First Aid & CPR/AED. Preferred but not required.
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $55,000-$65,000 per year
